100 Hikers from Gorizia to Sveta Gora<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Around a hundred participants from Italy and Slovenia \u2013 including two Germans and one Colombian \u2013 set off on Saturday, June 7, 2025, for the 4th stage of the Gorizian camino, from Gorizia to Sveta Gora. From the gathering point in Darko Bratina's courtyard in Travnik, led by the Walk2spirit project team (under which the Gorizian Camino was created), they embarked on an approximately 17-kilometer long journey with an elevation gain of 831 meters, which is accumulated on the last stage of this walking path.

They walked through Rastello and past Gorizia Castle towards Kostanjevica and along the streets of Nova Gorica to Trg Evrope (Transalpina), where they were greeted by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Nova Gorica, Toma\u017e Hrovat, the Gorizia Municipal Councillor for GO!2025, Patrizia Artico, and the representative of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, Katja Gaeta.

At the Solkan Kayak Centre by the So\u010da River, the hikers rested, refueled, and quenched their thirst. Then, they crossed the footbridge to the other side of the So\u010da River, along the slope of Sabotin to the road bridge over the So\u010da, and back to Solkan. There, the final ascent to the Sveta Gora Basilica began. On a hot day, this required considerable effort and sweat, but all participants were satisfied upon reaching the destination. With five of the total twelve Gorizian Camino stamps in their pilgrim's passport, which every participant received, they returned by bus to the starting point of the hike.

Many inquired when the next guided hike would be, and the organizers replied that, if not sooner, it would definitely be in late September. This is when, before the conclusion of the Walk2spirit project (which was created within the framework of the Interreg VI A Italy \u2013 Slovenia 2021 \u2013 2027 program as part of the preparations for the European Capital of Culture GO!2025), a hike covering all four stages of the 82-kilometer Gorizian Camino, from Aquileia to Sveta Gora, is planned.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
