On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 73 seventh-grade students from Fran Erjavec Elementary School in Nova Gorica, along with several chaperones, walked a portion of the Iter Goritiense. After a brief presentation about the trail in the school's assembly hall, they took two buses to Miren Castle, where the 3rd stage of the Iter Goritiense begins.
The hike's route was slightly adjusted for the sport day and the time the students had available. Instead of crossing the border into Gorica from Šempeter, they continued walking along the bike path to Pristava. There, they finally crossed the border and climbed to Kostanjevica along Via della Cappella.
The final part of the route was a descent to the Koren stream and then along a footpath next to it back to the school, following the clearly visible signs of the Iter Goritiense. In just under three hours, the seventh-graders walked a little less than 13 kilometers. All of them reached the finish line without any problems.
