The historical and nature route linking Italy and Slovenia takes a fundamental step forward in its enhancement process. Through a decree by the General Manager of PromoTurismoFVG, the Iter Goritiense has obtained official recognition as a Regional Trail and has been added to the register of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Trails Network.

This prestigious institutional accreditation comes during a phase of steady growth for the Iter—both in the number of hikers and the local administrative and commercial entities involved—and is accompanied by a major update in digital accessibility: the upcoming launch of a new dedicated Web App, developed in collaboration with the agency TMedia.

The recognition serves as a true seal of quality, set to open up new promotional synergies for the Iter Goritiense and consolidate its presence within official tourism circuits. The Web App—joining existing tools such as the official website featuring GPS tracks and the official guidebook written by Andrea Bellavite, Nace Novak, and Mattia Vecchi and published by EdiCiclo and ZTT—will provide hikers with an intuitive, interactive, and constantly updated digital tool designed to meet the needs of modern travelers.

The technical round table, hosted by the Kulturni Dom in Gorizia, was attended by mayors and councilors from both Italian and Slovenian municipalities along the route, alongside heads of the tourism boards of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia. It was a fruitful meeting that sparked interesting ideas for shared development while reinforcing the trail's importance—now highlighted both nationally and internationally through the FVG Trails Network—and its positive economic impact on local communities.
