Due to upgrading works near the embankment of the Isonzo river, the usual trail on the section following the Pieris bridge is temporarily inaccessible. Therefore, we invite pilgrims not to turn right after the bridge, but to turn left instead and take the path on the opposite side of the road, following the signs for the San Martino Circuit. This alternative route runs along the Isonzo embankment up to Turriaco, where it rejoins the original itinerary of Iter Goritiense.

It is only a small change of route, but it offers a wonderful opportunity to cross a particularly beautiful and picturesque area. After all, not all detours come to cause harm: sometimes the journey knows exactly how to surprise us right when it changes direction.
